1.
Matrixes can now be opened off the Account Status window, by
double-clicking any of the positions in the window. When a Matrix
is opened this way, it contains only the position that was double-clicked.
We expect this to be useful for the trader who holds multiple
positions in an asset but frequently needs to analyze his positions
individually. However, after opening a Matrix this way, if the
trader wants to see all his positions in this asset he can press
the ‘P’ button (previously existing feature). Opening
and closing the Transaction Log will also cause the Matrix to
be filled in with all existing positions.
2. For eSignal users, we added a new check box in the Quotes Reception
window called Collect NDX Money Flow Data. With this checked, the
program will collect the necessary data for the new NDX Money Flow
feature that was introduced in version 1.56. With the box unchecked,
the program will not request the 100 component stocks of the NDX,
thus leaving eSignal free to handle other symbols. Some users were
hitting their eSignal symbol limits because of the new NDX Money
Flow feature. We apologize for any trouble this may have caused.
Now data collection, as we said, can be turned off. (Note: The
new check box also exists for AT Financial and Hyperfeed, just
in case.)
3. The Trade
Button is more versatile now in terms of what users can have
it do.
See the new choices by going into the Account Information
window and clicking the “Configure Trade Button” button.
You may configure the trade button to either send a trade directly
into one of our broker partners’ software or web site, or
have it simply open a web site of the user’s choice. Most
users will probably set this to their online brokerage site, but
there’s no reason why you couldn’t set this to your
favorite news site, or anything else. Trade button settings are
account specific.
4. The “Favorite online investing site” field
under User Preferences was eliminated. It was not being used
for anything
anyway, and the above change did away with any need for it.
5. We added
a new online trading partner – OptionsXpress – and
made OptionVue interface directly with their web site for the transmission
of orders. To configure OptionVue to use OptionsXpress, open the
Account Information window and click the “Configure Trade
Button” button. Click the radio button “Trade button
sends orders directly to” and select OptionsXpress in the
pull-down menu. You may also enter your OptionsXpress Account ID
and Password. After that, when you click the Trade button, OptionVue
sends your order directly into the OptionsXpress web site, ready
to be finalized and executed. And if you entered your Account ID
and Password into OptionVue, the software automatically logs you
in as well.
6. In Graphic
Analysis, when superimposing cases, the program now assigns the
Volty Change,
Amount Provided, and Max Projected
Date values of the current case to the superimposed case(s). Say,
for example, you opened two cases – case A and case B, representing
two different trades. Then with case B showing you clicked the
Superimpose button to have case A superimposed over case B. Now,
if you changed the Volty Change field, both cases would be re-analyzed
with the new projected volatility. Before, only case B would have
been re-analyzed with the new projected volatility. We originally
designed it this way because we felt that most people would like
the program to behave this way. However, we realized that the new
way is probably how most people would expect the program to perform.
7. When the Matrix contained an existing position in an option,
plus an offsetting trade in the same option (hypothetically closing
the position), Graphic Analysis would leave out the hypothetically
realized G/L from that option. This has been corrected and the
hypothetically realized G/L is now included. The same goes for
Detailed Analysis off the Graphic Analysis.
8. Asset position deltas are now updated during batch file updates,
so that the Account Status can display updated asset deltas without
having to first open Matrix(s).
9. On 7-5-02,
approximately 50 Australian stocks and one Australian index were
added to the
BDB, and with this release, the OptionVue
5 software is able to access those new assets and work with them.
Australian assets are accessed using symbols with a ‘-A’ extension.
10. The BullSignal (Australian prices) interface was re-structured
to be more efficient.
11. Several items from the View menu were moved over under the
Window menu, and may be seen under a new submenu item there called
Open. This shortened the View menu, and made room for future items
to be added there. The choices moved over were all redundant anyway:
They were for opening screens that can be opened using buttons
in the main tool bar.
12. Instead
of 12 built-in OpScan formulas, there are now 13, as we have
split the “Historically High or Low Volatility” formula
into two formulas – one for historically high volatility
and the other for historically low volatility. Also, these two
formulas run on stocks only now, and show some additional parameters.
In addition, the “Futures Markets in Order of Current Volatility” formula
was changed to show some additional parameters.
13. Graphic
Analysis was computing B.E.’s (break-even’s)
across a range of from -3 standard deviations through +3 standard
deviations of the price of the underlying. This was not extensive
enough for some scenarios, so we increased it to a range from -4
through +4 standard deviations.
14. The Professional
edition can interface to First Option’s
RTTF System for automatic retrieval of positions and real-time
trades. See supplemental spec for more details: Design notes for
the RTTF Interface.doc.
15. The browse feature was improved in two ways. First, if you
were browsing off of the Survey, OpScan Report, or Yates Break
Search, then clicked in the Quotes Display, then came back, the
Next and Prev buttons no longer worked until you closed and re-opened
the Matrix, Price Chart or Volty Chart. Now the software leaves
you in browse mode after being in the Quotes Display. In fact,
among the Quotes Display, Survey, OpScan Report, and Yates Break
Search, whichever window you most recently activated becomes the
basis for browsing. Also, the current selection in the list being
browsed is always visible, with the list scrolling automatically
if necessary. |
